We took the lead after about ten minutes after Jon played Rhys out to the right who cut in past the left back and hit into the top left corner. We scored another about ten minutes later when Jon had a shot blocked and it fell to Dom, who stroked the ball into the corner. At this point we were cruising! This was where we went wrong. They scored four in a row, including one where Rich should really have seen the ball out for a throw in or at worst a corner. The less said about that the better. From then on we kept getting back to within one goal and they kept on scoring.
Our third goal came straight from the kickoff. Dom and Mike played one-twos with each other all the way through the defence and Dom pinged one in the bottom right corner. The goal that secured Dom's hatrick was lucky or amazing! He got the ball on the right and 'crossed' the ball in, and the ball ended up lobbing the keeper.
A mention is needed for our linesman of the year - Gerry. Top quality stuff. The same can't really be said for the ref for the game Badger Baldock. Penalty anyone??.....No:-)
Man of the Match: Dom - Held the centre of midfield, tackled hard and scored a hatrick....can't argue with that. Great game!
