We absolutely dicked on this team - not something that we can usually say about our performances. Everyone had a really good game and Phil answered his critics when he scored four goals after putting himself up front. A disguised talent!!
The weather for once was good when we got there. This didn't last of course and by half time it was lashing down again. We played football this week rather than hoofing the ball up the field as soon as we gained possession. Phil opened his goal account of the season early in the game. Phil got played through, turned his man and slotted the ball into the net. Rich also scored his first goal of the season with a 'placed' backheel into the corner of the goal. The goals were flowing in this game, although the keeper was a major factor!! Apparently he was the regular keeper! Phil and Char both scored long ranged efforts that he flapped at and the ball ended up in the back of the net
Towards the end of the game we conceded a few soft goals as we always do!
Char's brother Pete played for us in the center of defence which helped no end! We looked solid for once!
Gerry had the best chance he had had for the season after we were given a penalty. Was a good penalty but the keeper guessed the right way and saved it.
Man of the Match - Phil. Scored 4 goals, and it was his birthday. Top dog
