Another win for the Lower Weston boys. On a bit of a roll at the end of the season!! Looks like we might not get relegated after all! The sun was shining, and not a cloud in sight.
We seemed to play well from the start. We defended well, and looked dangerous on every attack. However they managed to get a goal against the run of play. The ball was played along our left, and they put in a cross which ended up in the back of the net off the post. We came back at them and within a short time we got one back. Charlie came inside his man from left back and passed it to Tim who knocked the ball through to Rhys who burst throught the defence and slotted it past the keeper. Soon after this Rhys was played along the left wing and squared the ball across the goal to Mike who put the ball in the near post.
After this there was an incident that made our lives a lot easier. Dave slid into one of their players who then reacted and trod on Dave's back. He was promptly told to take a walk. We were now getting into the game. Soon enough we scored again. Jonny came inside from the left wing and placed in the ball in the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
We were now making many chances. Rhys ran along the left wing and shot at the keeper who deflected it into the path of Mike who slotted the ball in for his second. Soon after this we scored again! Tommy played a long ball along the right wing to Jon who came inside and passed the ball to Mike who then curled the ball into the top left corner. It was now 5-1 and we were cruising - or so we thought.
We were now deep into the second half and the heat was starting to get to us. They started to press for goals to make the scoreline a bit more respectable. They managed to get three goals to make to score 5-4 in a very short time. For the first one of their players beat about 3 of ours and slotted it past Phil on his near post. The second was a header off a cross. Their center forward beat two of our defenders. Their final goal was scored after their forward was played through and beat two our our defenders. After this we were starting to think that we might even lose the game. Tim especially was going ape shit on the side line
We managed to hold onto the end without conceding another. The whole team played really well in this game and we managed to score a good number of goals. Good one Tommy for taking one right in the face. Looked nasty. not bad as chars last night tho!!

Man of the Match - Mike. Scored a hatrick. Didn't really stand out from the rest of the team, but everyone had a really good game. The 3 goals decided it:-)
